α. Αρετές: Τις γνωρίζουμε καλά από τον Πλάτωνα και πολλούς άλλους φιλοσόφους.
Φρόνησις= το διανοήσθαι. Είναι ο τρόπος σκέψης, η νοοτροπία, η σύνεση, η γνώση της Φύσεως, τέλος η αυτογνωσία. Το Δελφικό ‘γνώθι σαυτόν’. Είναι ο τρόπος των Ελλήνων, ο χαρακτήρας, από το ρήμα (ρ) τρέπω=στρέφω το νου μου προς…
Σωφροσύνη < σως+φρήν=υγιής νους, η κοσμιότητα, η εφαρμογή της φρόνησης, ο τρόπος ζωής (δίαιτα). Από το ζεύγος αυτό των αρετών, η φρόνησις, με την επίγνωση οδηγεί στη φιλοσοφία, και η σωφροσύνη με την πράξη, κάνει τον άνθρωπο σοφό σε ορισμένους τομείς. Ο Σωκράτης παραδεχόταν τον εαυτό του σοφό μόνο για λίγα πράγματα. Έλεγε ότι ο πάνσοφος ξεπερνά τον άνθρωπο, είναι σπάνιο είδος είναι δαιμόνιος δηλαδή σχεδόν ‘θεός’.
Ανδρεία. Η πολεμική ανδρεία είναι μία έκφραση της καθολικής ανδρείας, δηλαδή της λεβεντιάς, παλικαριάς, και ανθρωπιάς. Επομένως δεν είναι προνόμιο των ανδρών. Ο Αριστοτέλης απαιτεί: ‘‘δεί (=πρέπει) τη γυναίκα είναι σώφρονα και ανδρεία’’.
Δικαιοσύνη. δίκη < δέκομαι ( =εγώ το δέχομαι) = το ορθόν, η τάξη, ο νόμος. Ο ανθρώπινος νόμος αλλά και ο φυσικός Νόμος. Όπως σωφροσύνη χωρίς φρόνηση δεν υπάρχει στην προσωπική ζωή, έτσι ούτε δικαιοσύνη χωρίς ανδρεία στην κοινωνική.
β. Aξίες: Από το άξω < άγω = πόσο ζυγίζω. Τις θεωρούσαν οι Έλληνες απαραίτητη προϋπόθεση για την ολοκλήρωση της προσωπικότητάς τους.
Καλόν. Αρχέγονη λ. αρχικά αφορούσε την υγεία, είναι η ωραιότητα, όχι μόνο η σωματική αλλά και η νοητική. Το κάλλος είναι το αναμφισβήτητο και ανεπανάληπτο γνώρισμα του ελληνικού πολιτισμού. Σε εποχές ευτέλειας όπως η σημερινή είναι η πρώτη αξία που εξαφανίζεται μέσα σε χείμαρρο κακογουστιάς, του kitsh.
Αγαθόν. < α-γηθέω=αγάλλομαι, χαίρω. Το καλό, το σωστό, το ενάρετον. Το μέτρον: ‘’μέτρον άριστον’’ το ‘’μηδέν άγαν’’. Οι δύο φράσεις με το περίφημο και ανεξήγητο (;) ΕΙ [ άλλοι το λένε Ε] στη μέση: ‘’μηδέν άγαν ΕΙ γνώθι σαυτόν’’ γραμμένες στη μετώπη του ναού του Απόλλωνα στους Δελφούς, έβγαζε νόημα. Και ήταν ο τέλειος και ο τελικός σκοπός του ελληνικού τρόπου ζωής: ‘’τίποτα (πλέον) το περιττό εάν γνωρίζεις τον εαυτό σου’’. Και ενωνόντουσαν σε μια λέξη την καλοκαγαθία.
Αληθές. < α-λήθω=το μη κρυμμένο, το φανερό, συνεπώς το πραγματικό, το όντως όν. Είναι η ματωμένη πορεία του ανθρώπου από ‘’κρυμμένος στο σκοτάδι’’ μέχρι το ‘’φωτισμένος ο νους μου’’ με τον Λόγο και με την επίγνωση ‘’ανακαλύπτω τη φύση και τον εαυτό μου’’.
Το αντίθετο του αληθούς, το ψεύδος για απάτη, ο δόλος, ο εμπαιγμός. Είναι το ιδεολόγημα δηλαδή η συνειδητή κατασκευή ιδέας από τον Εξουσιασμό, ώστε να θεωρηθεί αλήθεια από το λαό. Η αν-ουσία.
Ελεύθερον. < ελεύθω, του έρχομαι. Αρχική σημασία αυξάνω, ολοκληρώνομαι, ανελίσσομαι. Οι Έλληνες γνώριζαν ότι χωρίς αλήθεια δεν υπάρχει ελευθερία και φυσικά και το αντίστροφο. Ο Επίκτητος λέει: ‘’στις αλήθειες η ελευθερία’’. Η καινή διαθήκη αντιγράφει ‘’γνώσεσθε την αλήθεια και η αλήθεια ελευθερώσει υμάς’’.

Ο θόρυβος που έχει ξεσπάσει περί της πιθανής συγχώνευσης (!) της ΠΑΕ Καλαμάτα με τον Αστέρα Τρίπολης, παρά το γεγονός πως πλέον τείνει κάπως να καταλαγιάσει, θα μπορούσαμε να πούμε πως έχει ήδη προλάβει ν’ αναστατώσει τις τελευταίες μέρες τους φιλάθλους της Μαύρης Θύελλας.
Και αυτό όχι γιατί οι - έχοντας βιώσει στο πετσί τους χρόνια τώρα την οικονομική ανέχεια και την μιζέρια - φίλοι της τοπικής μας ομάδας δεν επιθυμούν την είσοδο στην μεσσηνιακή ΠΑΕ επιχειρηματιών του μεγέθους των κυρίων Μπάκου και Καϊμενάκη. Το αντίθετο θα λέγαμε.
Ο λόγος λοιπόν αυτής της ευρύτερης αναστάτωσης και αναταραχής όλων σχεδόν των μελών της «μελανόλευκης» οικογένειας έχει να κάνει με το ότι αυτός ο θόρυβος συνοδεύτηκε από την φήμη πως η συγκεκριμένη συνένωση θα επιφέρει και την μετονομασία (!), πιθανώς και την αλλαγή εμβλήματος αλλά και χρωμάτων της λαοφιλούς και ιστορικής Μαύρης Θύελλας.
«Λαοί που δεν σέβονται και δεν διατηρούν την ιστορία τους, δεν έχουν μέλλον και παύουν σιγά - σιγά να υπάρχουν» έλεγε συνεχώς πριν από λίγα χρόνια ο μεγάλος (τότε κόουτς) Γιάννης Ιωαννίδης. Πόσο δε ομάδες, θα συμπληρώναμε εμείς…
Το μήνυμα δηλαδή των χιλιάδων – παροπλισμένων, μη ενεργών βέβαια τα τελευταία χρόνια- φίλων της Καλαμάτας είναι απλό και ξεκάθαρο, τόσο προς τους κύριους Μπάκο και Καϊμενάκη, όσο και σε όποιους άλλους πιθανούς, μελλοντικούς, επίδοξους αγοραστές της μεσσηνιακής ΠΑΕ:
Εάν θέλετε να έρθετε να επενδύσετε στην αγαπημένη μας ομάδα, σεβόμενοι απολύτως το όνομα, το έμβλημα, τα χρώματα και την ιστορία της, τότε θα είστε απ’ όλους μας καλοδεχούμενοι σε αυτόν τον τόπο και σε αυτήν την πόλη.
Σε διαφορετική όμως περίπτωση, αν δηλαδή επιχειρήσετε να μεταλλάξετε (!) καθ’ οιονδήποτε τρόπο την Μαύρη Θύελλα, τότε καλύτερα θα είναι να μείνετε εκεί που είστε τώρα…

Venitist John Browne points out the bad news for Greece is that despite some help from abroad, and some attempts at internal reform, investors are still leery of the troubled state. The good news, if you can call it that, is that they will soon have company in the penalty box, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, UK. Now that investors have come face-to-face with the reality of sovereign default in the developed world, greater scrutiny will befall those countries with fiscal conditions similar to Greece. The United Kingdom is a cause of great concern, with a debt ratio rapidly approaching Greek levels. The economic challenges facing Britain are aggravated by a Labour government that is pushing the country further toward socialism. As a result, from mid-2008 to today the pound sterling has lost some 25 percent of its value even against the US dollar. Debt and socialism are a toxic mix for investors. When Browne served as a Member of Parliament, under Margaret Thatcher, freedom literally burst upon Britain. They dropped the top rate of income tax from 92 percent to 30 percent (generating far higher tax revenue); abolished foreign exchange controls overnight; and demolished socialist controls by, for example, allowing people the basic freedom to own their own telephones! A wave of enterprise sprung up and Britain once again was referred to as Great, without causing wry smiles. Though it may be astounding by today's standards, we instituted a public debt repayment schedule. Thereafter, sterling soared by almost 100 percent between 1985 and 1995. Great Britain is now Little Britain, a slave State yoked to Brussels. Its fall was inevitable, but the economic crisis will shrink the last pretenses of empire faster than anyone expected. Suddenly, the sun that once never set on the British Empire is casting long shadows over what's left of Britain's imperial past, and Uncle Ken(UK) rethinks his global role.Global Tax Revolt(globaltaxrevolt@aol.com) points outThis is a watershed moment for Uncle Ken(UK). The country's public debt is soaring. The great engine room of British prosperity, the financial sector, now feels like an anchor. This is the record of spin, irresponsibility, and top-down state control. The glory days of London are now grinding to a halt. The main symbol of Britain's global might, London found financing for some of the world's earliest and most prominent multinational companies, and has had greater influence on global finance than Westminster has had on geopolitics. The great test of the next prime minister, venitist David Cameron, will be not only to redefine Britain's place among great nations, but also to adopt a venitist spirit.Browne points out Great Britain has, until the present, never experienced more than two successive socialist governments. Today, the Conservatives, who covertly support the surrender of UK sovereignty to the socialist European Union, are seen as offering little alternative to socialist Labour. Despite the appalling economic record of the current Labour government, recent polls show a serious risk of a hung parliament after this summer's general election. Suddenly, investors face the real prospect of a fourth socialist government. This specter, combined with the massive debt and misspending of the past three administrations, has led to serious out-flows from sterling and UK government 'gilt-edged' bonds, or 'Gilts.' As in the United States, the economic problems encumbering the UK and most of Western Europe are deep-rooted. They stem from many decades of dependence on monetary expansion to 'paper over' fiscal irresponsibility. GDP growth has been obtained by government subsidies of consumer demand, financed by debilitating taxation of productive enterprise, unimaginable public debts and massive currency debasement. Alas, it is also becoming painfully clear to investors that, unlike the past, the problems are now too big for the same old government remedies. Whereas the recent first wave of recession caused individual people and companies to face bankruptcy, the looming second wave threatens entire governments. Who can bail out governments if a number of them default simultaneously? The IMF is a sort of 'central bank of central banks,' but it is largely backstopped by the United States. Will China, Germany, or other creditor states be willing to assume the role of global guarantor? If so, what will this mean for the sovereignty and competitiveness of the old pillars of the Atlantic? Browne notes Greece is a small economy. But its debt problems highlight fault-lines undermining the euro, and with it the socialist dream of a United States of Europe. Today, Greek ten-year bonds sell at yields north of 6 percent, nearly 300 basis points higher than similar maturities in German, Danish, or French sovereign bonds. Browne points out the United Kingdom, as one of the two main bulwarks of modern finance, is the figurative canary in the coal mine. It is my belief that just as Greece preceded the UK, Britain will precede the United States along the dark and dangerous shaft of excessive debt. Although the United States is nearly five times larger than the UK, American financial difficulties are in nearly the same proportion. In many ways, problems in the U.S. may be more intractable. Although the Federal Reserve is actively holding down the short end of the yield curve to near zero, 10-year notes are currently yielding more than 3.6 percent. If the Fed were to cease purchasing Treasuries, or the rating agencies were to become realistic, the free market would drive the 10-year into dangerous territory. Browne muses that history is littered with examples showing that socialism kills enterprise. The UK and EU are largely socialist. The US is becoming increasingly so. This political trend, coinciding unsurprisingly with a major recession, invites catastrophe.
