~***Κατάληψη στο δημαρχείο της Λιοσίων από συμβασιούχους
Σε κατάληψη του παλιού Δημαρχείου της Αθήνας στην οδό Λιοσίων προχώρησαν οι συμβασιούχοι της ΠΟΕ-ΟΤΑ, οι οποίοι πραγματοποιούν εικοσιτετράωρη παναττική απεργία. Νωρίτερα, είχαν συγκεντρωθεί στην πλατεία Κοτζιά.-
** Μαίνονται οι μάχες στη Λιβύη
Δύο πολίτες σκοτώθηκαν και 26 άλλοι τραυματίστηκαν από τις επιθέσεις στη Μιζουράτα των δυνάμεων που είναι πιστές στον Μουαμάρ Καντάφι. Ωστόσο, στρατιωτικός ηγέτης των εξεγερμένων επιβεβαίωσε τον εξοπλισμό ανταρτών από χώρες της συμμαχίας.-
** Σκέψεις για διοχέτευση αζώτου στον αντιδραστήρα 1
Να διοχετεύσει 6.000 κυβικά μέτρα αζώτου στον αντιδραστήρα 1 για να αποτρέψει πιθανή έκρηξη εξαιτίας της συγκέντρωσης υδρογόνου, σκέφτεται η Tepco. Ωστόσο, σταμάτησε η διαρροή ραδιενεργού ύδατος στον Ειρηνικό Ωκεανό.-
* Οι εμπειρογνώμονες που βρίσκονται στον πυρηνικό σταθμό φοβούνται ότι η ποσότητα υδρογόνου θα συνεχίσει να αυξάνεται μέχρις ότου κατά την επαφή με το οξυγόνο του αέρα προκληθεί έκρηξη.-
* Οι εκρήξεις υδρογόνου έχουν ήδη προκαλέσει σημαντικές ζημιές στο εξωτερικό κτίριο των δυο εκ των έξι αντιδραστήρων του πυρηνικού σταθμού Φουκουσίμα Νταΐτσι (Ν.1). Σύμφωνα με την Tepco, η επιχείρηση διοχέτευσης αζώτου αναμένεται να διαρκέσει πολλές ημέρες.-
* Το άζωτο, ένα αδρανές αέριο, χρησιμοποιείται συχνά σε ευαίσθητες ζώνες αποθήκευσης για να μειώσει τα επίπεδα οξυγόνου και να αντικαταστήσει έτσι μέρος της ατμόσφαιρας.-
* Ωστόσο, η εκούσια απόρριψη στον Ειρηνικό Ωκεανό 11.500 τόνων ελαφρώς ραδιενεργού ύδατος συνεχίζεται για τρίτη ημέρα σήμερα, μόλις 250χλμ από το Τόκιο και τους 35 εκατομμύρια κατοίκους του, απειλώντας τη θαλάσσια τροφική αλυσίδα.
* Οι εμπειρογνώμονες φοβούνται ότι η θαλάσσια τροφική αλυσίδα θα μολυνθεί μέχρι την κορυφή της αρχής γενομένης από το πλανγκτόν, το οποίο καταναλώνουν τα ψάρια. Για να καθησυχάσει τον πληθυσμό, η κυβέρνηση έθεσε ένα όριο στα επίπεδα της ραδιενέργειας για τα προϊόντα της θάλασσας, όπως και για τα λαχανικά.
* Η απόρριψη μολυσμένου νερού στον Ειρηνικό Ωκεανό απειλεί τις εξαγωγές φρέσκων προϊόντων της Ιαπωνίας. Η Ινδία απαγόρευσε πλήρως την Τρίτη και για τρεις μήνες σε πρώτη φάση τις εισαγωγές τροφίμων από την Ιαπωνία. Είναι η πρώτη χώρα που λαμβάνει μια τέτοια απόφαση, ενώ η Κίνα, η Ταϊβάν, η Σιγκαπούρη, η Ρωσία και οι ΗΠΑ περιόρισαν τις απαγορεύσεις τους στα προϊόντα που προέρχονται από συγκεκριμένες περιοχές της Ιαπωνίας.
* Η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, η οποία εφαρμόζει από τις 24 Μαρτίου ελέγχους στην είσοδο των προϊόντων που προέρχονται από τις περιοχές αυτές, αποφάσισε να μειώσει τα επιτρεπτά επίπεδα της ραδιενέργειας εναρμονίζοντάς τα με αυτά της Ιαπωνίας, τα οποία είναι ήδη πολύ αυστηρά.
* Μέχρι σήμερα στην ΕΕ ίσχυαν τα επίπεδα που είχαν οριστεί μετά την πυρηνική καταστροφή στο Τσερνόμπιλ. Εξάλλου, βουλευτής της αντιπολίτευσης δήλωσε ότι θα είναι δύσκολο να επαναληφθεί η λειτουργία του δεύτερου πυρηνικού σταθμού της Φουκουσίμα.
* Η λειτουργία του Φουκουσίμα Νταΐνί διεκόπη μετά το σεισμό και το τσουνάμι της 11ης Μαρτίου, που προκάλεσαν ζημιές στο σταθμό Φουκουσίμα Νταΐτσι.
* «Είναι αλήθεια ότι υπάρχει έλλειψη ηλεκτρικού ρεύματος στο Τόκιο. Όμως, οι πυρηνικοί σταθμοί λειτουργούν μόνο με συναίνεση των τοπικών αρχών. Το βρίσκω αρκετά δύσκολο να επαναλειτουργήσει το Φουκουσίμα Νταϊνί», τόνισε ο Μασαγιόσι Γιοσίνο, μέλος του Ελεύθερου Δημοκρατικού Κόμματος, της αντιπολίτευσης.-
**Συμφωνία για την ενέργεια στο Αζερμπαϊτζάν
Κατά την επίσκεψη του Κάρολου Παπούλια, στο Μπακού υπεγράφη Συμφωνία Κατανόησης μεταξύ της ελληνικής και της αζέρικης εταιρείας φυσικού αερίου, κάτι που θεωρείται Ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό από αρμόδιους κυβερνητικούς παράγοντες.-
** Πρόταση 84 βουλευτών ΠΑΣΟΚ για την υπόθεση Siemens
Εκ μέρους της Κοινοβουλευτικής Ομάδας του ΠΑΣΟΚ, 84 βουλευτές του κόμματος κατέθεσαν πρόταση ώστε να διεξαχθεί συζήτηση στην Ολομέλεια της Βουλής, σχετικά με το πόρισμα της Εξεταστικής Επιτροπής για την υπόθεση της Siemens.-
* Όπως αναφέρεται στο κείμενο που κατατέθηκε στον πρόεδρο της Βουλής, κ. Φίλιππο Πετσάλνικο, «μετά την κατάθεση του πορίσματος της Εξεταστικής Επιτροπής «Για τη διερεύνηση της υπόθεσης Siemens στο σύνολό της», εμείς, οι υπογράφοντες την παρούσα πρόταση Βουλευτές του Πανελληνίου Σοσιαλιστικού Κινήματος, ζητούμε τη συζήτηση του ανωτέρου πορίσματος στην Ολομέλεια της Βουλής, σύμφωνα με τα άρθρα 148 παρ. 3 και 137 του Κανονισμού της Βουλής».
** Σύσκεψη στη Βουλή υπό τον πρωθυπουργό
Σύσκεψη υπό τον πρωθυπουργό, Γιώργο Παπανδρέου, πραγματοποιείται στη Βουλή για το Μεσοπρόθεσμο Πρόγραμμα Δημοσιονομικής Σταθερότητας, το οποίο έχει προγραμματιστεί να παρουσιαστεί στις 15 Απριλίου.-
** ΝΑΤΟ: Προτεραιότητα η προστασία των αμάχων
Το ΝΑΤΟ «θα κάνει τα πάντα για να προστατεύσει τους αμάχους» της Μιζουράτα, ανακοίνωσε η Ατλαντική Συμμαχία, η οποία κατηγορήθηκε από τις λιβυκές αντικαθεστωτικές δυνάμεις ότι αφήνει τους αμάχους της Μιζουράτα να πεθαίνουν. -
**Για τις 31 Μαΐου αναβλήθηκε η δίκη του Μπερλουσκόνι
Για τις 31 Μαΐου αναβλήθηκε, λίγα μόλις λεπτά μετά την έναρξή της, η δίκη του Ιταλού πρωθυπουργού, Σίλβιο Μπερλουσκόνι, ο οποίος κατηγορείται ότι πλήρωσε τις σεξουαλικές υπηρεσίες της νεαρής μαροκινής Καρίμα ελ Μάχρουγκ. -
** Δεν αποκλείουν αναδιάρθρωση στην Ελλάδα κυβερνήσεις της ευρωζώνης
*Αρκετές κυβερνήσεις της ευρωζώνης δεν αποκλείουν πλέον το ενδεχόμενο αναδιάρθρωσης του ελληνικού χρέους, μεταδίδει το Bloomberg, σύμφωνα με κυβερνητικά στελέχη που επικαλούνται χωρίς να κατονομάζουν οι Financial Times Deutschland.
* Συγκεκριμένα, το Bloomberg επισημαίνει ότι η Ελλάδα δεν θα είναι σε θέση να δανειστεί από τις αγορές τον επόμενο χρόνο.
* Ακόμη, το πρακτορείο, επικαλούμενο τους FT Deutschland, τονίζει ότι η αύξηση του ελληνικού πακέτου βοήθειας θα ήταν πολιτικά αδύνατη και για αυτό χρειάζεται ένα εναλλακτικό σχέδιο.
* Επικαλούμενο δε δηλώσεις ενός συμβούλου σε ηγέτη χώρας-μέλους της ΕΕ, «πρέπει να έχουμε έτοιμο ένα plan B, για την πιθανότητα που η Ελλάδα θα χρειαστεί κι άλλη χρηματοοικονομική στήριξη».

* Πληροφορίες διακινούνται από κοινοβουλευτικά στελέχη του ΠΑΣΟΚ σύμφωνα με τις οποίες για την υπόθεση των υποβρυχίων συζητείται το ενδεχόμενο να συσταθεί απευθείας προανακριτική επιτροπή για να διερευνήσει τυχόν ευθύνες όσων διετέλεσαν υπουργοί εθνικής άμυνας το επίμαχο διάστημα. Δηλαδή, των Ακη Τσοχατζόπουλου, Γιάννου Παπαντωνίου, Σπήλιου Σπηλιωτόπουλου και Ευ. Μεϊμαρακή.

** Απίστευτο εύρημα στη Μεσσηνία
**Ανακαλύφτηκε στη Μεσσηνία το αρχαιότερο κείμενο στην Ευρώπη!!!
* Γραφή σε πήλινη πινακίδα, που βρέθηκε το περασμένο καλοκαίρι στην Ικλαινα (χάρτης) της Μεσσηνίας, είναι το αρχαιότερο γνωστό κείμενο στην Ευρώπη, σύμφωνα με μελέτες.
* Η είδηση δημοσιεύτηκε στις 30 Μαρτίου στο περιοδικό «National Geographic», το οποίο αναφέρει ότι, κατά τους ερευνητές, η πινακίδα διασώθηκε από καθαρή τύχη όταν ένας σωρός σκουπιδιών έπιασε φωτιά πριν από 3.500 χρόνια. Η πινακίδα, που βρέθηκε σε ελαιώνα στο χωριό Ικλαινα, 14 χλμ. βορειοανατολικά της Πύλου, είναι μυκηναϊκή και χρονολογείται μεταξύ 1450 και 1350 π.Χ.
* Σύμφωνα με τον καθηγητή του Πανεπιστημίου του Μισσούρι-ST Louis και επικεφαλής των ανασκαφών στην περιοχή, Μιχαήλ Κοσμόπουλο, οι μέχρι τώρα έρευνες έχουν φέρει στο φως ενδείξεις ενός πρώιμου μυκηναϊκού ανακτόρου, γιγάντιους αναλημματικούς τοίχους, τοιχογραφίες και ένα ιδιαίτερα εξελιγμένο αποχετευτικό σύστημα. Το πιο εντυπωσιακό όλων όμως είναι η πινακίδα.
* Το περιοδικό αναφέρει κι άλλες δηλώσεις του καθηγητή, σύμφωνα με τον οποίον η πινακίδα δεν θα έπρεπε να βρίσκεται εκεί για δύο λόγους. Πρώτον, γιατί μέχρι σήμερα οι αρχαιολόγοι δεν θεωρούσαν ότι μυκηναϊκές πινακίδες είχαν κατασκευαστεί τόσο νωρίς και δεύτερον επειδή όσες έχουν βρεθεί ήταν μόνο σε μερικά πολύ σημαντικά ανάκτορα, όπως οι Μυκήνες, ο προκάτοχος του σημερινού ρεκόρ.
* Στην Ικλαινα υπήρχε ανάκτορο κατά την πρώιμη μυκηναϊκή περίοδο, ωστόσο την εποχή που φτιάχτηκε η πινακίδα, ο οικισμός ήταν ένας απλός δορυφόρος της πόλης της Πύλου, έδρας του βασιλιά Νέστορα.

* Tο θραύσμα της πινακίδας έχει περίπου 2,5 εκατοστών ύψος και 4 εκατοστά πλάτος και τα σημεία που έχουν χαραχθεί αποτελούν πρώιμο δείγμα της Γραμμικής Β, γραφής που χρησιμοποιήθηκε κατά τη Μυκηναϊκή Περίοδο (17ος έως 13ος αι. π.Χ.) και αφορούσε κυρίως οικονομικά και λογιστικά θέματα της άρχουσας τάξης.
* Σύμφωνα με τους ερευνητές, η πινακίδα της Ίκλαινας περιλαμβάνει από τη μια πλευρά τον σχηματισμό ρήματος που σχετίζεται με την κατασκευή και από την άλλη ονόματα και αριθμούς, που πιθανότατα αντιστοιχούν σε κάποιον κατάλογο ιδιοκτησίας.
* «Πινακίδες τέτοιου τύπου δεν ψήνονταν, μόνο στεγνώνονταν στον ήλιο και γι’ αυτό τον λόγο ήταν πολύ εύθραυστες», δήλωσε ο κ. Κοσμόπουλος. «Προφανώς την εποχή εκείνη κάποιος πέταξε την πινακίδα σε κάποιο λάκκο και ύστερα έκαψε τα σκουπίδια του. Μετά η φωτιά τη σκλήρυνε και τη διατήρησε», κατέληξε.
* Σύμφωνα με την Εν Αθήναις Αρχαιολογική Εταιρεία, η έρευνα της Ίκλαινας άρχισε το 1999 ως επιφανειακή και διήρκεσε το 2006. Το 2008 ξεκίνησε ως συστηματική ανασκαφή της Αρχαιολογικής Εταιρείας υπό τη διεύθυνση του κ. Μιχαήλ Κοσμόπουλου με εξαίρετα αποτελέσματα τριών ανασκαφικών περιόδων (2008-2010), τα οποία έχουν δημοσιευτεί στους τόμους των ετών 2008, 2009 και 2010 του ετήσιου περιοδικού «Το 'Εργον της Αρχαιολογικής Εταιρείας». -

**POLITICALLY-CONNECTED BANKS ARE PAID TO MAKE BAD DECISIONS!
Central banks must be abolished. Money needs to be defined by the government, perhaps as a quantity of gold as in the past, a basket of commodities, or something else in order to make payments and collect taxes. Once money is defined, the private sector is perfectly capable of creating the necessary quantity of money, as it did before the advent of central banks.
* Since its inception in 1913, the Federal Reserve has helped to devalue the dollar by 96%. During the recent economic crisis, it has poured trillions of dollars into the economy with no oversight, made secret agreements with foreign banks and governments, and has refused to tell Congress who is getting the money or to give it the details of what deals are being made. We demand full transparency from the central banks.
* Last week Congressman Ron Paul was both surprised and pleased when the Supreme Court upheld lower court decisions requiring the Federal Reserve Bank to comply with requests for information made by Bloomberg under the Freedom of Information Act,FOIA. Bloomberg simply wanted to know who received loans from the Fed's discount window in the aftermath of the 2008 financial market crisis, and how much each entity received. Surely this is basic information that should be available to every American taxpayer. But the Fed fought tooth and nail all the way to the Supreme Court to preserve their privileged secrecy. However, transparency and openness won the day. There are some 29,000 pages to decipher, but a few points stand out initially.
* Ron Paul points out the Fed lent huge sums of American money to foreign banks. This in itself was not surprising, but the actual amount is staggering! In one week at the height of the crisis, about 70% of the money doled out went to foreign banks. We were told that bailing out banks was going to stave off a massive depression. Depression for whom? We now know that the Fed's bailout had nothing to do with helping the American people, who have gotten their depression anyway with continued job losses and foreclosures. But now we learn that a good deal of the money did not even help American banks!
* Ron Paul notes in light of recent world events, perhaps the most staggering revelation is that quite a bit of money went to the Arab Banking Corp., in which the Libyan Central Bank owned about a third of its stock. This occurred while Libya, a declared state sponsor of terrorism, was under strict economic sanctions! How erratic the US must appear when we shower a dictator alternately with dollars and bombs! Also, we must consider the possibility that those loans are inadvertently financing weapons Gaddaffi is using against his own people and western militaries. This would not be the first time the covert activities of the Fed have undermined not only our economy and the value of the dollar, but our foreign policy as well.
* Of course Ron Paul can't say he is surprised by the poor quality of the data provided by the Fed. The category of each loan made, whether from the Primary Discount Window, the Secondary Discount Window, or Other Extensions of Credit, is redacted. Thus, we don't know with certainty how much discount window lending was provided to foreign banks and how much was merely other extensions of credit. Also, some of the numbers simply do not seem to add up. We are of course still wading through the massive document dump, but it does seem as though several billions of dollars are unaccounted for.
* As the world economy continues to falter in spite of - or rather because of - cheap money doled out by the Federal Reserve, its ability to deceive financial markets and American taxpayers is coming to an end. People are beginning to realize that when the Fed in effect doubles the worldwide supply of US dollars in a relatively short time, it has the effect of stealing half your money through reduced purchasing power. Rapid inflation will continue as trillions in new money and credit recently created by the Fed flood into the commodity markets.
* It is becoming more and more obvious that the Fed operates for the benefit of a few privileged banks, banks that never suffer for bad decisions they make. Quite the opposite - as we have seen since October 2008, under our current monetary system politically-connected banks are paid to make bad decisions.
*As the health of much of the global economy weakens on a daily basis, political
eadership increasingly ignores the source of the malady and instead focuses on
short term band-aid remedies. These measures which may buy a few months, or
years, of relative wellbeing, will convince the public that problems have been
solved and will thereby take pressure off governments to make the needed
structural changes. The $1 trillion EU bailout is a perfect example of this
band-aid approach. Napoleon Sarko threatened to pull out of eurozone, unless
Merkel agreed to back the European Union's bailout plan!
* European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet calls for more effective
sanctions against countries violating eurozone's Stability and Growth Pact.
Trichet plays kangaroo, calling for a quantum leap of mutual control among
eurozone governments. ECB should not be listening to recommendations from
Eurokleptocrats.
* Kleptocrats are creating zombie banks and companies that are kept alive artificially. We started with a too-big-to-fail problem, and part of the policy response to the crisis has been
even more financial consolidation. JP Morgan took over Bear Stearns and Bank of
America took over Merrill Lynch. What we have now is financial institutions that
are even bigger. Those institutions, even more than before, know if they do
something very risky, something reckless, they will be bailed out again.

**BLASPHEMY IS NOT A CRIME ANYMORE
PEN International praises the U.N. Human Rights Council for its recent unanimous vote on the right of all individuals to practice religion, which ended a thirteen-year campaign by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to make blasphemy a crime. John Ralston Saul, President of PEN International, points out freedom of expression may cause discomfort, but it is the ultimate protection for people of any faith.
* Venitis Law of Faith: Faith is retarded thinking that keeps you away from God.

* Since 1997, a coalition of countries led by the 57-nation OIC has put forward resolutions on combating religious defamation that contained language demanding that states ban blasphemy and other religious denigration. PEN and other human rights organizations have lobbied against the proposals, warning that they would significantly erode crucial international and national protections for freedom of expression.
* In September 2010, PEN International hosted an influential discussion at the Human Rights Council in Geneva, citing numerous cases where governments have used religious defamation laws to jail writers and suppress unpopular opinions. In live testimony and in videotaped statements, writers and free-expression advocates from around the world spoke about the potential harm of imposing legal restrictions on expression considered offensive or defamatory to religions. They argued that such restrictions not only would do little to foster mutual understanding and respect, but also could be used to stifle creative freedom and suppress minority views and religions.
* Saul is very happy that on 24 March 2011, instead of reintroducing the religious defamation resolution at the current Human Rights Council session, the OIC presented a new resolution that focuses on ending religious discrimination. The resolution removes all references to protecting religions and shifts the emphasis to protecting individual believers, something PEN has long argued is the correct approach both in principle and in the law.
* Saul notes this unanimous resolution affirms that all nations can come together to agree upon language and a framework for protecting all forms of freedom of expression. The writers of PEN have expressed their belief most passionately that rights are inherent in individuals, not institutions such as organized religions.

Oppose any abridgment of the freedom of speech through government censorship, regulation or control of communications media. The government cannot gag forums, internet groups, electronic bulletin boards, communications networks, and other interactive electronic media as we hold them to be the functional equivalent of speaking halls and printing presses in the age of electronic communications, and as such deserving of full freedom.
**MARK HINKLE AND PAUL RYAN LOCK HORNS
Libertarian Party Chair Mark Hinkle muses that Americans hoping to get real about the American national debt just got sucker-punched by Republican Paul Ryan! Republicans want to spend $40 trillion over ten years. That averages a staggering $4 trillion per year. As recently as 2000, federal spending was only about $1.8 trillion. They also want to increase the federal debt from $15.0 trillion to $23.1 trillion.
* Following Ryan's plan, USA might deteriorate to the miserable level of Greece, a deranged country that has been transformed from the cradle of democracy to the cradle of kleptocracy, has a parliament of 300 hookers, forty ministers who are in power to get kickbacks and terrorize dissident bloggers, schools that brainwash kids to hate Turks, brutal cybercops, and hoi polloi addicted to iconolatry, nepotism, jingoism, acrimony, vanity, and statism.
* The impunity of the 300 Graecokleptocrats of the Grand Brothel on Syntagma Square is the most freakish thing on Earth. Even though they looted many billion euros in kickbacks and churning, not a single Graecokleptocrat has ever gone to jail! They are protected by the parliamentary immunity, and nobody can touch them, no matter what. Moreover, they have the nerve to jail dissident bloggers. It's a long way from the 300 Spartans of Leonidas! Allons enfants de la Grece!
* Hinkle asserts people should not judge the quality of this Republican plan by the standard President Obama has set. Everyone knows Obama is a big spender. Democrats rarely campaign on cutting government. What this budget shows is, Republicans are hypocrites. They have no intention of cutting the federal government down to size. In 2021, Paul Ryan still wants the feds to be spending 19.9% of GDP. That's a higher percentage than during Democrat Bill Clinton's second term. In 1997, federal spending was 19.5% of GDP, and it dropped to 18.2% by 2000. Paul Ryan is worse than Bill Clinton.
* Hinkle notes that another unfortunate but predictable thing about Paul Ryan's budget is that it continues to mollycoddle the Pentagon. Paul Ryan is the Military-Industrial Complex's best friend. He apparently can't find one penny to cut from Obama's bloated levels of military spending. Only a big-government Republican could come up with language like reinvesting $100 billion in higher military priorities.
* Hinkle points out that when the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress and the White House from 2001-2006, they did nothing to shrink government, or even slow down government growth. On the contrary, back then, Paul Ryan was busy voting for expensive foreign wars, No Child Left Behind, and the huge 2003 Medicare expansion. More recently he's voted for the TARP bailouts and even ethanol subsidies.
* Atlas shrugged in Graecokleptocracy, and he might shrug in USA. It's impossible for Greeks to produce when Graecokleptocrats loot them with heavy taxes, especially the 23% VAT, demand kickbacks, confiscate computers and personal files, impose stupid laws and regulations, harass dissident bloggers, condone cybercop brutality, and spread the cancer of socialism.

**FRAUD GALORE!
OLAF's (European Anti-Fraud Office) mission is fighting fraud, corruption and any other illegal activity affecting the financial interests of the European Union, including misconduct within the European Institutions. OLAF is part of the European Commission, but remains independent in its operational and investigative functions. But the European Parliament, aka Eldorado of Prostitutes, refuses to be investigated by OLAF!
* OLAF investigations are carried out on the basis of competences defined in Article 325 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) and Regulation 1073/1999 of the Eldorado of Prostitutes and the Council. The Regulation states that the purpose of OLAF investigations is fighting fraud, corruption and any other illegal activity affecting the financial interests of the European Community and to investigate serious facts linked to the
*performance of professional activities which may constitute a breach of obligation likely to lead to disciplinary and, in appropriate cases, criminal proceedings or an analogous breach of obligations of Members of the institutions.
* A lack of information on irregularities and fraud in connection with the spending of Fourth Reich funds in Fourth Reich Member States is criticized in a resolution passed by Eldorado of Prostitutes on Wednesday. Eldorado of Prostitutes also deplores the lack of checks on customs duties collected by Member States and failures to recover incorrectly-spent funds.
* The resolution, drafted by CAtAlin Sorin Ivan (S&D, RO), is a response to the European Commission's 2009 annual report on the protection of the Communities' financial interests and the fight against fraud. It was passed with 655 votes in favour, 3 against and 18 abstentions.
* Eldorado of Prostitutes strongly criticises the Commission report for providing too little information on fraud and irregularities. This is considered a result of bad reporting by Member states. The fraud rates in France and Spain are, for example, considered suspiciously low. In future, MEPs want to see a clear division between irregularities and fraud, given that fraud is a criminal offence, whereas an irregularity is a failure to comply with a rule. They also ask for a breakdown of estimated fraud and irregularities for each Member State so that disciplinary action can be taken against individual countries.
* Large amounts of Fourth Reich funds are still spent incorrectly, says the resolution. Parliament calls on the Commission to take action to ensure prompt recovery of those funds, especially in Italy. In agriculture and cohesion policy in particular, the rate of recovery of outstanding amounts is catastrophic, say MEPs.
* Eldorado of Prostitutes wants the Commission to exert pressure on Member States to provide reliable and comparable information and to impose penalties for failing to comply with reporting obligations. In line with the budget discharge report for 2009, Eldorado of Prostitutes also stresses the need for national politicians to take political responsibility for the spending of Fourth Reich funds by their national authorities, which accounts for almost 80% of Fourth Reich expenditure.
*Eldorado of Prostitutes is also concerned about the high number of irregularities in the collection of own resources in Austria, Spain, Italy, Romania and Slovakia. It calls on these Member States to step up their customs surveillance systems. The scale of fraud relating to imports from China is a cause for serious concern, it says.
* Parliament calls on Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Slovakia and the UK to meet their reporting obligations in the field of agriculture. The Commission should closely monitor agricultural spending in Spain and Italy, where the number of irregularities as well as the amounts involved were the highest, it says, adding a request for updates on specific remedial measures taken in these two Member States.
* MEPs are deeply concerned about the high rate of error in spending in this policy group, which in 2009 was above 5%. However, given that many of these irregularities are arguably due to the complexity of procurement procedures, Parliament asks the Commission to propose simplified rules. In this area too, the recovery of incorrectly-spent funds from beneficiaries is far from satisfactory, it notes.
* Parliament is also concerned about the high rate of fraud in Bulgaria in connection with the Special Accession Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (SAPARD) in 2009. For the whole programming period, this rate, at 20%, is the highest rate seen in all funds analysed. The Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Slovenia reported a zero rate of fraud for SAPARD, which prompts suspicion either about the reliability of the information provided or about these countries' ability to detect fraud.
* MEPs call on the Commission, the EU agencies concerned and the Member States to take measures and provide resources to ensure that EU funds are not subject to corruption, to impose dissuasive sanctions where corruption and fraud are found, and to step up the confiscation of criminal assets involved in fraud, tax evasion and money-laundering-related crimes.

Global Tax Revolt points out the persecution of dissident bloggers is unquestionably a serious attack on freedom of speech, and contrary to Article 2 of Lisbon Treaty, Article 10 of the European Convention of Human Rights, and Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The disgusting government of Graecokleptocracy cannot bully the blogosphere without repercussions and blowbacks. * Open Rights Group has been focusing on two of the many reasons why so many people are concerned. First, it puts decisions about what we are allowed to see in the hands of businesses. In a self-regulatory scheme proper democratic accountability and judicial oversight are bypassed.
* Second, in practical terms it manages to be both pointless and dangerous. Web blocking is superficially attractive. And it is only superficially effective. * Who should judge which sites require blocking? On what grounds? With what democratic and judicial oversight? ISPs and rights-holders can't answer these questions on their own. Ed Vaizey has at least promised us that consumer representative groups would be involved. But as things stand, discussions without any such voices continue.
* Furthermore, practically it is not easy to ensure only the right traffic is blocked, and it is likely that the wrong sites will accidentally be put on the — inevitably secret — block list. In Australia, a dentist and a kennel were apparently placed on a planned list aimed at blocking child abuse images.
* Blocking is also easy to circumvent. The people doing anything seriously wrong — for example people selling content they don't own the rights to — will take about four seconds to find ways to swat away blocking measures and reach their market. Users will still easily find what they want.

* Experts including the University of Cambridge security researcher Richard Clayton, EuroISPA, and Dutch and French ISPs have all expressed serious doubts about the effectiveness of blocking. As has Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt — he recently asked Ofcom to review whether it is workable.
* There's a further reason to be concerned. The last few months have seen compelling debates about the role of technology in facilitating either people power or repression of the people. Setting up a self-regulatory blocking scheme not only creates the mechanisms for unaccountable censorship, it significantly weakens our ability to complain in good faith about other governments' censorship.
*Bradwell muses that blocking is a cosmetic measure that allows policy makers to pretend they are doing something proactive whilst bringing no returns for artists and the creative industries. At worst, it is actively dangerous in creating an infrastructure of unaccountable censorship.
*Hillary Clinton points out the internet has become the public space of the 21st century – the world's town square, classroom, marketplace, coffeehouse, and nightclub. We all shape and are shaped by what happens there, all three billion netizens. And that presents a challenge. To maintain an internet that delivers the greatest possible benefits to the world, we need to have a serious conversation about the principles that will guide us, what rules exist and should not exist and why, what behaviors should be encouraged or discouraged and how.

Είναι γεγονός πως στο μακρόχρονο εμφύλιο του Σουδάν υπήρξαν περισσότεροι από δύο εκατομμύρια νεκροί, επίσης στο Τσαντ εδώ και έξι χρόνια υπάρχουν εμφύλιες συγκρούσεις, επίσης στο Μιανμάρ απ' το Νοέμβριο του 2010 υπάρχουν συγκρούσεις με μερικές δεκάδες νεκρούς, επίσης στην Ακτή Ελεφαντοστού απ' το Νοέμβριο του 2010 υπάρχουν εμφύλιες συγκρούσεις με εκατοντάδες νεκρούς, επίσης στην Σομαλία ο πόλεμος που ξεκίνησε το 2009 και συνεχίζεται μέχρι σήμερα έχει κοστίσει την ζωή σε περίπου 2.000 ανθρώπους. Όλα αυτά όμως, δεν φαίνεται να ενδιαφέρουν ιδιαιτέρα το "φιλάνθρωπο" ΝΑΤΟ και τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες. Εκεί δεν επιδεικνύουν ούτε καν πολιτική βούληση για να λυθούν τα ζητήματα. Κάτι μου λέει πως, αν υπάρξει προοπτική για εκμετάλλευση πόρων (ειδικά αν αυτοί είναι πετρέλαιο), και το συμφέρον των ΗΠΑ, είναι μια "δημοκρατία" του χεριού της, και εκεί θα ενδιαφερθούν για τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα. Εκτός βέβαια, κι αν στο συμφέρον τους είναι η συνέχιση των συγκρούσεων. Σε τέτοια περίπτωση δεν θα κωλώσουν ακόμα και να τις υποκινήσουν. Το έχουν κάνει και στο παρελθόν άλλωστε.-
* Σχετικά με την καταστροφή της Φουκουσίμα, τα κανάλια και διάφορα μέσα, σπεύδουν να μας καθησυχάσουν, λέγοντας πως τα επίπεδα της ραδιενέργειας είναι κάτω απ' τη ζώνη κινδύνου. Η άκρως επικίνδυνη και ανεύθυνη αυτή αντιμετώπιση, προφανώς προσπαθεί να εξυπηρετήσει συμφέροντα. Με αυτόν τον τρόπο, τα ΜΜΕ δεν αντιτάσσονται ξεκάθαρα στην πυρηνική ενέργεια, αλλά αντιθέτως προσπαθούν να λειτουργήσουν ως ομπρέλα, μέχρι να περάσει η "μπόρα" των αντιδράσεων ενάντια στα πυρηνικά. Χωρίς να θέλουμε να κινδυνολογήσουμε, η αλήθεια είναι πως αν υπάρχει έστω και μία πιθανότητα, το επίπεδο της ραδιενέργειας, να ξεπεράσει την ζώνη επικινδυνότητας, τότε θα μιλάμε για παγκόσμια καταστροφή με ανυπολόγιστες επιπτώσεις στο περιβάλλον, ακόμα και του μακρινού μέλλοντος, καθώς η ραδιενέργεια δεν εξαλείφεται. Η καταστροφή της Φουκουσίμα, είναι ήδη τεράστια, και είναι άμεση ανάγκη, όλοι να αντιταχθούμε στην πυρηνική ενέργεια. Το αστείο της υπόθεσης, είναι πως πολλά από τα κανάλια που σπεύδουν να μας καθησυχάσουν για την ραδιενέργεια, ταυτόχρονα στο πρόγραμμά τους, διατηρούν εκπομπές για την υγεία!
